Dancer charged in New York child kidnapping case
Exotic dancer Barbara Lee Grimm, 24, from Tulare California, was arrested on kidnapping charges after taking two children from Washington to New York following a beer party. A two year old boy wandered in Central Park and a one year old girl was left with a stranger. The father identified the boy. the girl was examined and deemed unharmed. Police and FBI spokesmen described Grimm as having a “mother complex” and said authorities would decide on formal charges.

One Raleigh Countian is jailed, another is free on bond, and a third remains in Beckley Hospital after a beating Saturday night at Elkins Lunch at Arnett. Clyde Daniels of Posey and Lula Burchfield of Fairdale were arrested on information warrants in connection with Randolph Booth’s assault. Booth, of Glen Daniel, is being treated for a broken jaw and head bruises. Daniels posted bond and is to appear Saturday at 10 a.m.. Burchfield is detained for further questioning.
