Governor names Glenville man to liquor control post
A 36 year old Glenville man has been named director of the State Liquor Control Commission merchandising division. Sexton D Wright an assistant in Workmen's Compensation Commission claims division was named to the job formerly held by C H Newton of Charleston. Newton and James Lemmon of Beckley were dismissed in an economy move. Commission Chairman W W Barron announced no mention of Lemon's division. Barron said consolidation plans still call for merging Lemon headed division with another section of the commission.

BERLIN Russians released two American soldiers after 179 days in East zone. Pvt. Raymond V. Michalowski of Perth Amboy New Jersey and Pvt. Lieutenant Night of Los Angeles California, both MPs, were seized Nov 26 1952 on the border of the Russian zone. Maj. Gen. Thomas S. Timberman met Sergei Dengin in Karls horst to receive them. Dengin said the investigation is complete and no further detention is needed.
