Mullens police jailed 22 people over a two day period with 15 arrests by state police. Among those jailed were three Alabama men charged with attacking a man and two men held for auto theft. Pair Confesses To Auto Thefts In Mercer County
Lelan Verri Kennard, 22, of Missouri alias James Cole, and Freeman Donahue of Hotchkiss confessed to stealing a 1942 Buick wagon found burned near Mullens last week. They also admitted taking a 1939 Mercury with California plates held in Mullens. Arson charges await Wyoming County Grand Jury action. The Buick was owned by Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Clyde Bourne of Princeton.
