Mrs Ruby L Hutchinson 64 of 1144 Ewart Ave will have funeral 1 pm Wednesday at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev William Menefee Jr officiating. Oak service follows at 3 30 pm today at Sunset Memorial Park. She died Monday after a long illness in a local hospital born April 2 190 at Dorothy daughter of William Cantley and the late Myrtle Cantley. Survivors include her husband Boyd Hutchinson Beckley a son Ralph Scherer and daughter Wanda Stover both of Beckley a stepdaughter Francis Dickey Clendenin a brother Ralph Cantley Beckley four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services for Percy M. Epling 77 of 121 Mason St and Rev James Ross Gialdella 40 of Harper were planned with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Harry Shumate of St. Albans aged 79 died Monday at his son Jess Shumate’s Laurel Maryland home after a heart attack. He worked 30 years for the West Virginia State Road Commission retiring in 1962 and began in District 9 Lewisburg. Becket County Police Report Multiple Traffic Incidents

Beckley state police reported a deer strike on State Rt 61 near U. S. 19 killing a deer and causing damage to a car driven by Herbert Underwood. Two-car crashes on State Rt 3 and Valley Drive North led to minor injuries, vehicle damages, and several charges including failure to control and disorderly conduct. Mrs Bruce testifies in suit against Fair Deal Market owner

Mrs Minnie Bruce testified in Raleigh County Circuit Court that an injury to her leg from a bent basket handle at the Fair Deal Market on the 1921 By-Pass left her partially incapacitated from July 19 to mid October 1971. She said she treated the wound at home then received medical care for blood poisoning, with medical expenses totaling 54.75 dollars.
