Plant Kits Not Here Yet In North Carolina Emergency Garden Program

Vegetable plant kits the second part of the Emergency Garden Program have not been received here. H B Thomas Raleigh County agent said this morn ing. Announcement as to when they will be distributed will be issued by Thomas. All arrangements have been completed for the kits between the state and suppliers in North Carolina, Thomas said, but the actual date of shipment had not been set. The weather is a distinct factor in this, he said, because the plants must be lifted from the ground. When the plants are to be shipped, each county agent who is to receive them will be notified in plenty of time to inform applicants through news media, Thomas said. It will save a lot of people a good deal of time and trouble, if all applicants who are to receive plant kits, will wait until they hear from the county agent in their county.
