Equation Predicts Heart Disease Risk From 11 132 Men
A mathematical equation using age systolic pressure blood cholesterol smoking and body mass index predicted five year risk of coronary heart disease in 11 132 men aged 40 to 59, showing high correlation with actual outcomes. The study by Ancel Keys and colleagues found ethnic differences not altering the overall predictive power and proposed the tool for health counselors and physicians.

Congress to save egg market by turkey anarchy
The Lighter Side humorously suggests reviving an egg market plan by reducing hens laying via a fake tech fix. It mocks mass poultrycide and proposes a pretend feed additive called Layoff or De slav to curb production, warning of political fallout and election-year issues.

Berlin court frees woman over noisy love sounds
A West Berlin court ruled a 32 year old unmarried teacher could not be convicted under anti noise laws for sounds during intimacy. Neighbors complained about thin walls but the judge said investigating would infringe on private life. Separately Florida reported a divorce rate of one per 1.9 marriages in 1970, well above the national average of one per 3.4.
