Train Victim's Rites Saturday
ANSTED James Francis Croster 25 of Ansted was killed instantly Wednesday evening in Roanoke when struck by a train. A miner and Army veteran, he was born December 19, 1931 in Ramsey and belonged to American Legion Stonewall Jackson Post 127. Survived by father Charles E. Crosier and three brothers. Funeral at Richmond Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday with burial there. Body to be moved from Thomas Funeral Home to his father’s home. Military rites at grave.

Girl Scout Camp Reservations Due By May 13
Fayette County Girl Scout reservations must be filed with unit leaders by May 13 for the new Laurel Creek camp near Beckley. Senior Intermediate and Brownie sessions run June 9 to June 23, with three day sessions and assorted fees. Camp includes meals tents insurance nurse and doctor on call.

Poteet Funeral Rites Held in Oak Hill for Gary Poteet
Funeral services for Gary French Poteet 68 were held today at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel Oak Hill with burial at Turley Cemetery. Survivors include wife Grace four sons and four daughters with multiple relatives in Ohio and West Virginia. Federal Judge Ben Moore ruled part of West Virginia Fair Trade Act of 1937 unconstitutional in GE v Wender Oak Hill suit, saying the section exceeds its title and is not germane to it.

Girl Scout Council To Accept Members In Fayette County
A three member committee has been named by the Fayette County Girl Scout Council to nominate candidates for membership. Mrs J Meredist Arbaugh of Falls View council president, Mrs Robert Hertdon Gauley Bridge, and Mrs George Armstrong Oak Hill will propose names. Invitations to serve will be sent to those nominated. A basic training course for adult readers will be held in the fall and a workshop is planned for January.

Moonshine Still Displayed at Richmond Police Academy
In Richmond a confiscated moonshine still was set up at the police academy but federal agents declined to let rookies run a batch. They punctured the cooker vat at several places to ensure safety and control.
