Cigarette Ignites Chair and Rug in Seth Home

A cigarette set a chair and rug ablaze at Mrs. Vivian Edleman’s Seth home around 9:30 am. No other damage occurred and Whitesville firefighters were not required after the fire was extinguished prior to their arrival.

Oak Hill Man Missing after Thursday sighting

State police pursue a Oak Hill disappearance of C. E. Clemmins last seen Thursday night entering a taxi on East Main Street. He reportedly carried a large sum of money and flashed his roll in several businesses. His wife says he is 35, 5 feet 9 inches, 140 pounds with light hair, wearing blue trousers and a leather jacket.

Treadway Rites Set for Today

Funeral services for Richard Lee Treadway 75 of Mount Hope are at 2 p m today at the home with Rev Charles Ash officiating. Burial follows in Sanger Cemetery. He was a retired coal miner and is survived by his widow Dollie and eight children, plus several brothers.

Milam holds the top spot in the vermin predator hunt sponsored by the S. Pioneer Sportsman Club through October 15. Contest totals show Milam with 326 points, Ernest Vaught 158, Rodney Moore 140, from 14 contestants as interest grows with new scores.

He was born June 19, 1873, in Virginia, son of Harvey and Margaret Barrett, and survived by seven sons and five daughters.

Infant daughter of Clear Creek couple dies in Charleston

The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Legg of Clear Creek died at Charleston General Hospital Saturday night. Burial is planned at Stover Cemetery in Ameagle at 2 p.m. today with Rev. Robert Geller of Colcord officiating. Surviving are a sister Alice Arbutus and a brother Danny Joe. Mrs George Spade travels to San Diego to join her Navy husband. she is Isabelle Bandy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bandy of Kilsyth.

Ben Dunman Leads Pineville Winners in Wyoming School Festival

MABEN Members of the Ma ben Woman's Society of Christian Service will serve refreshments at the Maben polls tomorrow according to plans from a recent meeting. Mrs. James Williams led the devotional and Mrs. Vera Hight gave the program.
