Mayor Accused of Stealing in Petty Larceny Charges

MILAN APL Hearings stemming from petty larceny charges against Mayor Raymond Dridg e are set for May 6 and 16. Duddridge is accused by Police Chief M R Lucas of stealing a load of gray valvund valued at 14.27 dollars. Settlement Reached in Raleigh County Motor Case

A settlement was reached by action by David Smith against Gary Hailey in Raleigh County. The case, heard before a jury, involved damage to a small foreign car struck on Grove Ave. by C. R. Withrow and Bailey, with John C. Ashworth serving as counsel for Smith and John Scherer for Bailey. The incident, dated March 14, 1968, caused six injuries in a funeral home incident.

Five Eastern mines operated by Eastern Associated Coal Corp in West Virginia are idled in a grievance dispute. Keystone No 2 and 3 at Herndon, and Rapperston Norris Wharton and Miracle Run in Wyoming County are affected. The stoppage centers on graduated vacation pay for miners with ten or more years service. Becktley Theft Charge Ties 50 Dollars To purse

A 15 year old boy was charged with theft after allegedly stealing $50 from a purse at a Raleigh County office. The incident occurred at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday when the purse lay on a desk in Beckley City Police jurisdiction. Three people charged after a two car crash at North Kanawha and Prince streets at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday.
