Shower Honors Mrs. Charles Lilly in Shady Spring Home

Mrs. Paul Bowles of 115 Campbell Street was honored Sunday at Leo's Diner on the By-Pass with a surprise birthday luncheon. Mrs. A E Helm led a Raleigh Heights meeting of the Rhododendron Garden Club at Mrs Paul T Davis home. She described azalea as part of the rhododendron family and noted its color range. Rhododendron grows from Nova Scotia to Georgia, reaches 5 to 33 feet, has 3 500 species, prefers moderate climate near water and acidic soil.

Minstrel Show Set at Woodrow Wilson High School

The Woodrow Wilson High School band and glee club present "The Four Winds and the Seven Seas" a minstrel show on March 29 and 30 at 8 p.m. in the high school theater under director Glenn Sallack.
