Bridges Rebuilding Sought After Potomac Damages
A delegation led by state WPA Administrator F. Witcher McCullough and Road Commission engineers traveled to Washington to urge federal funding for rebuilding five bridges damaged by the Potomac river in the eastern Panhandle. The Public Service Commission will audit the Washington and Berkeley Bridge company while Maryland authorities cooperate. Bridges at Harper's Ferry Handcock and Shepherdstown are among those affected.
