State Board wins fight to bar two Princeton players
Charleston March 20 the State Board of Athletics appeals won its bid to declare Princeton high school players E J Lambert and Harold Herring ineligible for the state tournament. The court overruled a Mer cer Circuit order blocking interference with their play after they joined a pre season game at Elkins while not enrolled. The board barred them from the tournament and Princeton kept winning in preliminaries as floods delayed travel forcing a one week postponement of the championship. The Supreme Court heard Princeton lawyers claim irreparable injury if they could not play.
