Beckley Column Urges Signed Letters and College News
A Beckley column urges readers to sign letters before print, noting the value of accountability. It highlights Beckley College events including a Commercial club dance at Black Knight Country Club with 500 invitations and plans for a play The Smiling Cow on April 9, plus campus leaders Oswald Gwinn and student activities. It recalls local historic bridges, notably Philippi’s 1852 bridge site of Civil War action, and notes junior productions at Woodrow Wilson High School and office moves at the Memorial building involving Mrs. Roy Teel and George M. Parker.
