Holt Attacks WPA Chief Hopkins and WPA in WV

Senator Holt of West Virginia charged Harry Hopkins with perjury when his report cleared the WV WPA in a Senate showdown. Holt accused WPA administrator F Witcher McCullough of removing a letter noting a job firing at Huntington. He urged a nationwide WPA probe and questioned allocations to Democrats. The speech drew Democratic protests as Holt cited Johnstone as a key WPA operative in South Carolina payroll padding.
