Beckley to issue bonds for street and sewer improvements
Beckley Common Council approves a plan to issue 95 000 dollars in bonds to finance grading paving and drainage along Oakwood Avenue South Kanawha Street Jamison Street and the hollow area with a 30 year term at 6 percent interest plus building a sewerage system plan calls for a special March 22 1921 election to ratify the bonds and a separate levy of up to 32 cents per 100 dollars for thirty years if approved an advisory committee will oversee the project and sale proceeds will fund the streets and sewerage program
