Germans Build Olympic Arena
Berlin March 13 The Associated Press describes the progress on Germany s new Olympic stadium for the 1936 games. Since 1933 work has continued with 3200 workers daily and completion planned by June 1 for final finishing touches and the swimming pool. The project reuses the old 1916 sunken bowl as a basement parking area accommodating about 3000 vehicles. An Olympic subway lines will run from central Berlin to the stadium with additional lines and a direct gate hallway station to ease access for contestants officials and the public. Pedestrian tunnels will separate foot and motor traffic to prevent jams.
