Thurmond man posts bond in shooting case

R L Higginbotham of Thurmond was held for grand jury and posted 500 bond after waiving preliminary hearing on a shooting with intent to kill charge. The incident near Depot Lunch left Nobel Humphries wounded and a stray bullet narrowly missed the C&O depot telegraph operator. Nobel and his brother Normani Humphries were jailed again after hearings and bond set at 500.

Miss Bessie Webb and Frank Caldwell married in a single ring ceremony at the Baptist parsonage on Moran Avenue. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cal Webb Sr., Mullens, works as a cashier at G C Murphy. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. L C Caldwell Princeton, is an engineer at Elmore terminal, Virginian Railway. They will reside in Moran Apartments First Street.
