In Geneva Soviet sources report that America and Russia have agreed to launch a joint weather satellite. The accord is described as the first outcome of letters between President Kennedy and Premier Khrushchev on outer space cooperation begun last March.
Dryden refused to confirm a Soviet report about a joint weather satellite project with Prof Anatoli Blagonravrov and said revealing talks would be an indiscretion The sources said the two space giants also plan a magnetic field measurement project and near agreement on a joint communications satellite launch in talks here with Hugh Dryden

A Pittsburgh meat firm agreed to a $35,000 fine and 15 days suspension for unlawfully importing kangaroo meat. Chairman McClellan announced Senate hearings on the Estes case set for June 27. Sgt Alvin C. York, 74, hospitalized in Nashville, may return home later this week. Kennedy will hold a 4 p.m. news conference EDT Thursday. The Covington trial case moved forward against six men including police officials. Princess Paola gave birth to a girl named Astrid in Brussels. Hancock County joined West Virginia’s health boards, the 54th of 55 counties. Two federal agencies are noted in a brief segment.
Tri county champion Nancy Walker ended her run in the National Spelling Bee in the fourth round with cataract after earlier success on museum yeoman and hypocrisy. Nancy, 12, from Meadowbridge W Va, wore her lucky bracelet and flowers on stage at the Mayflower Hotel as she faced Denver Col and Pottsville Pa competitors, while reporters noted her nerves and support from home.
The National Science Foundation awarded three contracts totaling 1,574,060 dollars to Westinghouse Electric, Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock, and Pacific Crane to build the 140 foot radio telescope at Green Bank. Associated Universities Inc. will supervise the project for the observatory, with completion expected in 1964 and the total cost still projected at 13 million.

Former West Virginia coach Pappy Lewis, 53, suffered a Saturday night attack at his Mount Lebanon home. He spent a restful night and showed improvement after being stricken earlier in the week. Lewis is to begin his third season with the Pete as an assistant coach and personnel scout.
Dra vo Corp announced high grade limestone for cement is being mined in Greer area West Virginia about ten miles from Morgantown. A crusher plant with 750 tons per hour capacity has been built at the mine and a Morgantown dock is ready for loading crushed limestone onto barges.
Police found eight badly decomposed infant bodies at Evans Funeral Home in Akron, some possibly there since July 1959. Stillborn and newborns were in rags behind the shop, some with identification beads on wrists. Clarence Irby, 37, who ran the business, was held on an open charge for suspected improper operation.
