Fayette Men Begin Army Oath Process in Richmond
Seven Fayette men have applied for duty in the Regular Army and will take their oath in Richmond Virginia. Four ex servicemen among them already served in engineers infantry 11th Airborne Division and more. Names and ages include John Lewis 25 Doan 22 John C Keffler 22 Andrew L Lively 20 Russell Holcomb 18 James Hicks 17 Jerry Ross 17 and George F Baker 17. Lively re enlisted before a 20 day lapse and may receive a reenlistment bonus while retaining his technician fifth grade trade. He served with the European occupation forces before discharge in May.

Mount Hope Merchants Organize Businessmen’s Association
In Mount Hope the Merchants and business men formed the Mount Hope Businessmen’s Association at a Lions Club gathering with about 90 percent of local merchants present. Frederick Tissue was elected president, with Lyle George vice president Ben Lewis secretary and R H Carter treasurer.
