New River Plans First Aid Meet at Scarbro Park

Kidnapped George Weyerhaeuser Freed After Eight Days
Little George Weyerhaeuser was released unharmed eight days after kidnapping near Issaquah Washington. His uncle paid $200,000 ransom. farmer George Boniface found him four miles from Issaquah and aided his return home in a taxi with Seattle newspaperman John Dreher. The boy recalled being kept in a trunk and in a house north of Issaquah while the captors spoke of aliases Alvin Harry and Bill.

Filling Station Man Crucified in High Point
J R Riggs a middle aged filling station operator was found nailed to a rough cross beside his highway station near High Point North Carolina. Ten penny nails pierced his hands and feet and held him to the crude cross. Pp A Walls who was traveling the road found the naked figure at about 3 am and summoned help. He and an ambulance crew removed the nails and took Riggs from the cross. Police quoted Riggs as saying three men came to his station while he slept and nailed him to the cross.
