Hurt Blames New Deal Bungling for Hard Times
Oak Hill Republican congress candidate Rufus C. Hurt accused the New Deal labor policies of causing empty shelves and devalued money. He told Republican workers that working men farmers and business people are being penalized to pay for bungling and urged holding the administration responsible. Two Divorce Suits Filed In Fayette
Fayetteville staff writer reports two new divorce suits instituted yesterday in the circuit court. Cases include B. H. Garrett versus Jocie Linswiler in chancery, with J. M. Ellis as attorney, and J. W. Hodges versus Mary F. Hodges of Oak Hill for divorce with Love as attorney. Cecil Smith, by Mahan White Higgins and Laird, sues WH Jones under the Emergency Price Control Act for an overcharge on a 1941 Chrysler four door sedan. Smith bought the car in November 1945 for 1506.00 and found the ceiling price was 1194.71, seeking triple damages of 903.87.
