Randolph Says Bill Will Pass
Rep. Jennings Randolph told about 7,000 at the Monongahela Valley Coal Mining Institute that he is confident the coal stabilization legislation before Congress will be enacted. He spoke at the close of a six weeks first aid course with wide state representation, noting the coal business is sick from uncertainty and over regulation. The Guffey bill’s constitutionality was also voiced as a belief by Randolph, who was among several speakers, including N P Rhinehart and A G Matthews. Twenty-seven teams competed in the first aid contest with Koppers Coal and Transportation Co. winning the men’s white team.
