Marshall student appeals riot conviction in Huntington
A Sept. 3 hearing will hear defense bid to set aside the Tuesday guilty verdict against David Workman 22 of Marshall University. He was convicted by a Cabell County Common Pleas Court jury for inciting a riot after police used tear gas to disperse a crowd last October.

Washington reports the House Appropriations Committee knocked about 650000 from the Nixon administration flood control plan for Rowlesburg Dam in Preston County and barred further land purchases while a Corps of Engineers restudy proceeds.
