Fayette Circuit Court defers home brew case to September docket
Fayetteville RNS reports the Fayette County Circuit Court postpones the home brew legality test case of Addie and Harrison Mitchell. Seven gallons seized from the Page residence, with two quarts poured out. Prosecutors sought Supreme Court guidance on whether possession of high alcohol content home brew is illegal and in what quantities. The delay cites Mrs. Mitchell’s broken leg and ongoing analysis at the State Police lab showing 49 percent alcohol. The case aims to clarify legal status and thresholds for home brew under the State Liquor Centre Act.
