Mums The Word For Fall Gardens
Chrysanthemums furnish bold color in autumn gardens and tolerate neglect. Gardeners can start from greenhouse young plants or make cuttings from new shoots. Cuttings should be 3 to 4 inches, stripped of lower leaves, and dipped in captan fungicide before planting in a sand mix or peat moss for rooting. A penny’s cost for captan protects many cuttings. In social news, Mrs. Bill Darby received a household shower at the First Church of God hosted by her mother-in-law Mrs. Nora Darby with guests and refreshments.
