Mead Man Injured In Mine Car Wreck In Beckley Hospital

Mullens report states Jack Thomas of Mead is hospitalized at Beckley Hospital after a work accident in the Mead operation. He suffered a broken right arm and cuts to both arms when a mine car wrecked against timber. Soldier's Rites Set for Sunday for James E. Legg

Final services for James E. Legg 22 of Mount Hope will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Tyree Funeral Home chapel with Rev C G Shawver officiating. Burial in Westlake Cemetery at Ansted. Legg, born July 17 1922 at Ansted, was killed in France July 11 1944 while with Company B 329th Infantry. He is survived by his father H B Legg and mother Audrey Workman both of Mount Hope Route 1 and siblings Don Suzie John David Bonnie Donnie and Bobbie.
