Fourth-best lead danger on bridge and a defensive plan
In a bridge problem, if partner leads fourth best from a five card club headed by the ace, you cannot counter. If the lead is from a six-card suit headed by the ace, play low from both hands to protect. Suppose another low club is played at trick two, win the trick, take the diamond finesse, and if the finesse loses East cannot return a club, letting you make the rest of the tricks.

Safe play in three no trump bridge slam plan
In a three no trump contract with South to play, pass to allow partner to guide to four hearts. If the diamond finesse fails, aim to restrict opponents to three club tricks. The hand hints at regrouping options and measures, with partner ultimately choosing a safer route from three no trump toward possible four no trump.
