Collision on Highway Kills Two. Dozens Injured in Bus Crash
BELLEVILLE Ind UPI two people were killed and nearly 40 injured when a Greyhound Scenic Cruiser en route from St Louis to New York collided with a semi trailer on U S 40 near Belleville Indiana. The bus tore open spilling passengers as it overturned. One identified dead was William David Neville 67 Edinburg Ind. An unidentified woman also died. Several victims hospitalized in critical condition. Officials say the crash occurred as the bus attempted to pass the truck rather than side by side. The drivers were only lightly hurt.

Hawaii's Macel Leilani Wilson, a 19 year old from Honolulu, captured the Miss U S A crown amid 51 international contenders in Miami Beach. Summer Resort Blaze Kills 2 at Hawkins Hotel
A three story Hawkins Hotel near Liberty New York burned in the Catskills early today killing two. About fifty guests were in the hotel with thirteen others hospitalized five hours after the fire started at 234 a.m. EDT. Police said several may have been outside the building when the blaze began and investigated the cause. Property damage is estimated at 50000 dollars.

In Grafenwoehr Germany two U S Army aircrew were killed when a light plane crashed shortly after takeoff for undetermined reasons. Captain Ronald W Anderson 33 of Miami Florida and crew chief Sp John A Evans 23 of Lead Mine West Virginia died in the incident. They were survived by spouses and children and were based in Germany.
