Fayetteville story reports Mrs Margaret Woolson 25 year old Negro given life in state penitentary after jury found her guilty of first degree murder for drowning her 13 month old son Thomas Joel on October 22 in her home. Prosecutor Carl Vickers said she held the child's head under water then placed him in a bed. Jury recommended mercy. Judge R J Thrift Jr imposed the sentence. Earl Woatson testified in her defense asserting intoxication and lack of premeditation.
