PAX RNS reports 97 year old Long Branch resident Fred Louis Sutphin drowned when his car overturned into a canal near Miami Florida after a collision with another vehicle. He had just returned from Army duty in the Far East on leave to visit his mother Mrs Leis Sutphin of Miami. Survivors include his father Eugene, maternal grandparents Mr and Mrs H F West, sister Flora Belle Payne and brothers Dean and French, both of Miami. He is to be buried in a Miami military cemetery.

Funeral Sunday For Clendenin
Bobby Gene Clendenin, 2, of Oak Hill, will be buried at High Lawn Memorial Park after funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Church of God on Jones Ave. The body lies at Tyree Funeral Home and will be moved to the church an hour before services. He died Thursday in a Princeton hospital from a bullet wound incurred in a car wreck near Flat Top the previous night. Edward A. Legg, 22, of Oak Hill, is jailed in Mercer County as the investigation continues into the incident.
