Test Aids Detect Early Emotional Difficulties In Children
Two Boston researchers under a National Association for Mental Health grant introduced the Tasks of Emotional Development or T. E. D. Test. Dr. Geraldine Richard and Dr. Haskel Cohen use photographs of everyday scenarios to gauge emotional responses in children at various ages. The tool helps identify deviations in emotional growth while noting it supplements but cannot replace full diagnostic procedures. Educators in Boston report it valuable for spotting atypical development and expect wide classroom adoption nationwide.
