Fidel Castro accused certain revolutionary elements of hiding arms to oppose his leadership and reported seizures of machine guns rifles and 90000 cartridges from Havana barracks. Constitution Change May Be Called For To Speed Recovery

West Virginia leaders pressed for constitutional reform to aid economic recovery. A Democratic Steering Committee proposed allowing state funds for industrial development and creating a state development authority. Mikoyan Calls Berlin Plan Reasonable in Detroit Remarks

Soviet Deputy Premier Anastas Mikoyan called the Berlin withdrawal proposal “good and reasonable” while in Detroit. He said the USSR regards its plan to demilitarize West Berlin as a compromise and ruled out Western troop withdrawal or replacement. Flynn Scoffs At Denials Of Cuban Front Line Role

New York AP Errol Flynn arrived from Cuba and rejected rebels who deny his participation in Castro’s mountain campaign. He described two months with Castro forces, wore a blue blazer and red buttons, and claimed the emblem on his bandana envisioned Cuba’s new flag. Rites Set Saturday For Mullins Infant

Graveside rites for the infant daughter of Adam K. and Ruth Craig Mullins of Mabscott will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. L A Garten presiding. VA Hospital Official Transferred To Cleveland Ohio

Calvin E. Chandler, chief of the registration division at Beckley VA Hospital for two and a half years, is transferred to Cleveland where he will serve in the same role. He arrived at Beckley in 1956 from the Atlanta hospital with his wife and child.

Christmas Seal Receipts Lag Behind 1958 Mark

A total of $8,883.75 has been collected to date from Christmas Seals, $300 behind last year at the same point, per Mrs. C. C. Lewis executive secretary of the Raleigh County Tuberculosis and Health Association. Raleigh County led the state in TB patient admissions to Pinecrest Sanitarium in December. Boy Recovering From Sled Accident Injuries

Raleigh County reports its first sled accident victim of the year as Richard Guy, 16, son of Ben M. Guy Jr., admitted to Raleigh General Hospital in fair condition with face and head injuries after his sled struck a red dog and catapulted him onto Granville Avenue between 7:30 and 8 p.m.

Fugitive Warrant Lands Beckley Man in Raleigh Jail

Raleigh County sheriff's deputies jailed William E. Bradford at 4 40 p m on a fugitive warrant. Bradford faced two bad check warrants from Fayette and Mercer counties and remains in custody awaiting worse action. Dilly Fink of Ghent was fined 50 and costs for drunk driving and 25 for driving after license suspension plus a two day jail term. arrested by state police at 10 25 a m Thursday. Henry Griffith of Ghent, held on moonshine and drunk charges, fined 100 and costs and 30 days in jail on moonshine plus 5 and costs on the drunk charge. Sam Berilla, 42 Beckley, remanded on 500 bond after waiving preliminary hearing to face grand jury on obstructing an officer and drunkenness, jailed after arrest by city police at 4 05 p m Thursday. Clothing Drive Expands As Beckley Truck Collects Gear

Beckley Chamber of Commerce launches a countywide clothing drive with a truck on Main Street in Beckley Monday through Saturday and an attendant to collect items. 10 Aboard Apparently Dead Airliner Wreckage Spotted

A Southeast Airlines DC3 wreckage was located in the Holston Mountains about 20 miles east of Kingsport Tennessee. Ten aboard, seven passengers and three crew, are believed killed. The plane last contacted Tri-Cities Airport at 8 32 pm on approach from Memphis with stops at Nashville and Knoxville. Rescue parties were dispatched to the scene.
