Powellton Nurse Marks Five Years Of Community Service

Jessie K. Johnson of Powellton completes five years with the Home Nursing Service of Eastern Gas and Fuel Associates. She began in 1943, first serving Beards Fork, then Powellton. Tide of Toys Collection Weekend in Fayetteville

Fayetteville area drive led by LaFayette American Legion post will move the Tide of Toys to the Legion Home on Friday and Saturday. Montgomery Mayor Wins Fourth Term in West Virginia Vote

In non-partisan municipal elections, Montgomery re-elected Mayor D. H. C. Skaggs to a fourth term with 792 votes to 482 for Robert W. Jackson. Five Republican councilmen were re-elected and W. D. Shrewsbury became recorder. Cameron re-elected Mayor Harry Yodl ers unopposed, with a record turnout of 546. Paden City saw George Krause emerge as mayor with 549 votes to 208 for Citizens candidate Frank M. Rogers and 44 for incumbent John W. Mills. GI-Labor Party won four council seats.
