FAYETTEVILLE Two men Bert Rice Jr 27 of Garten and James Scruggs held in Fayette Jail on theft of copper wire from Page s mine. Rice admitted going to Robson to see Oran Johnson about money on a car trade but did not see him. They cut and hauled wire from an outside feeder line leaving several large sections. Deputies Gautier and Elmore arrested them after a late night pursuit. No preliminary hearing yet.
