The Canadian cabinet after a four hour session planned a brief reply to Moscow over a leaked secret data disclosure. An interim royal commission report on the leak is due before the weekend, with a full report expected in about two weeks. Russia admitted its reps obtained secret data in Canada but called it insignificant and accused Canada of an anti Soviet campaign.

In Moscow Izvestia charged Prime Minister W L Mackenzie King and British Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin with undermining Soviet led global authority. Rebellion In India Spreading Miner Killed At Affinity

One miner, Robert F. Richardson, 57, of Affinity, died in a mine fall at the Lillybrook coal company Affinity mine. Two others Arthur Rakes of MacArthur and Harry Lehman of Crab Orchard were injured. Company officials began inspection to determine the cause as Richardson’s body was moved to Caffee funeral home. The three men were state crew members working together.

Detroit GM UAW strike near end says mediator

Special mediator James F. Dewey said an agreement likely will be reached between General Motors and the UAW by tonight. Mabscott Mayor To Resign Monday

Mabscott will appoint a new mayor after Monday when W B Murray resigns from office. Three Hurt When Auto Rams Pole in Dunns

Three youths from Dunns were treated at Raleigh General Hospital after a car crashed into a utility pole on South Kanawha Street. Lando Skelton 22 was the driver, with Leonard Meador 21 and Bernard Lilly 24 injured. Lilly had cuts above the eyes and on the chin, Meador a nose cut and right leg abrasions. Skelton left the hospital before questioning. About 250 dollars in damage to the car.

439 Believed Dead In Reich Mine Explosion

British and German authorities halted rescue at Grim berg mine near Kamen in Herford Germany after an explosion two days earlier. As many as 439 miners may have perished. Rescue crews saved 59 and recovered 14 bodies. The mine housed 498 workers including three British experts. Cement sealing of the shaft began.

Milk Strike Idles 750000 Detroit Dairies

Detroit dairy workers strike enters its third day leaving about 750 000 residents without milk. 21 of 32 dairies closed, six signed 20 cent raises while five operate under AFL contracts.
