Dunn and Ralsten Lead Bridge Score Parade
Mrs Dunn and Dr Ralsten topped the Tuesday night duplicate bridge handicap with 85 points as 13 teams competed in the Southern West Virginia Contract Bridge League event. Second place went to Sam Hockman and Bill Kiain with 77.5 points and Jack Binderman with Max Workman totaled 76.5 points.

Cooking School Concludes With Grand Prize Draw
The Modern Home Cooking School in the Raleigh County Memorial Building wrapped up with announcements of grand prizes including a gas range and a six foot gas refrigerator. Miss Madeline D. Linehan planned the program and led dishes while merchants awarded dishes cooked by attendees. Dozens of prizes such as radios, piano credits, appliances, clothing, and groceries were to be given this afternoon, with many baskets of groceries and prepared dishes displayed. The event, sponsored by Beckley Newspapers Corp, drew crowds though seating overflowed on day one.
