Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Voloski will be at 10 30 am Friday in the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel Oak Hill conducted by Rev Randolph Johnson. Burial will follow at Baye Cemetery near Summerlee. She died Monday afternoon in an Oak Hill hospital from pneumonia and a heart condition.
Enrollment at the Institute of Technology shows a term increase of eight students from last year with 868 total, including 104 new students. Full time 383 freshmen, 190 sophomores, 138 juniors, 119 seniors, four post graduates. males 719 to females 149.
Funeral services for Nikodimas Rimkus age 63 will be held at 11 30 a m Friday in the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel Oak Hill with the Rev Randolph Johnson officiating Burial will be in Bays Cemetery near Summerlee Rimkus died Tuesday morning Undergoes surgery Oak Hill (RNS) Mrs Anna bell Secundo Eastview Addition is recovering from major surgery at Oak Hill Hospital serves as secretary at the hospital clinic
John Franklin 82 of Oak Hill and formerly Kincaid died at 6 p m Wednesday at Hilltop Nursing Home after an extended illness. He belonged to the Church of God and the United Mine Workers of America. Body lies at Tyree Funeral Home with arrangements incomplete.
Nelson Davis of Mount Hope represented West Virginia at an electronics meeting in Cambridge Massachusetts. Twenty one men were chosen for the school by the Combustion Control Division of the Electronic Corp. of America with participants from Puerto Rico and western states. Davis, formerly head of the Mount Hope scout program, is a Sempistion engineer and supervises plant operations at the Beckley Whitesville Veterans Administration Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs Mamie Susan Brown 64 Oak Hill will be at 2 p m Friday in Tyree Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Freddie Steele. Burial in Hilltop Cemetery. She died of a heart attack at home. Survivors include husband Jess Brown two brothers Walter Shuck Merle Stuck one sister Zelia Davis two daughters Wanda Treadway Ina Rhoades 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Body to be taken to her home this afternoon then returned to the funeral home Friday at 1 p m.
The Mount Hope Christian Church will host a pancake and sausage supper in Fellowship Hall from 4 to 8 p m on Saturday. Proceeds fund a new healing plant for the church. the event is open to the public.
Fayetteville RNS report notes members of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department attended the Fellowship Dinner in Friendship Hall of the Methodist Church. Guests were hosted by Rosser Long and J. H. Alten, with firemen listed including Richard Wilson, Darrell Myles, Jimny Curry, Roy Cruikshanks, Cotty Smith, John Jeffries, Charles Weatherford, Kenneth Tygrett, Tommy Tygrett, Herbert Sampson, Houston Wendell, Ermel Wilson and Bland Hesse M1.
Stamley Hach, a Maben volunteer firefighter, returned to duty Tuesday after being blown about 25 feet by a dynamite explosion while fighting a February 11 fire at the Allen Oety home in Cevel Hash. He helped direct water as the three burned houses left the Oety family with mostly uninsured losses and only a few items spared.

Whitesville chamber of commerce will convene at 2 p.m. with a special report on local unemployment to be presented by Richard Branham and Dan Branham. The report, discussed at last week's meeting, will follow up on the project.
Funeral services for Curtis Lee 47 of Amigo will be held at Mt. Grove Baptist Church Wyco at 1 p m Saturday with Rev Lawrence Berger. Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery Beckley. Lee died at his Amigo home after illness and was born December 26 1910 in Lynchburg Virginia to George and Irene Lee. Survivors include wife Doris two sisters Irene Parks Baltimore and Virginia Johnson Beckley. Body to be taken to Lee residence Friday at 6 p.m. from Robertson and Foglesong Funeral Home.
Ansted seeks public service commission approval to raise water rates in Fayette County. Proposed minimums would rise to 1.00 inside town and 3.60 outside, with present mins at 2.40 and 2.80. The town reports a net operating loss of 3,035 tied to a 15 month period ending Sept 30 1957.
A bridge canasta party planned by the Fayetteville Senior and Junior Woman's Clubs to raise funds for the high school band was cancelled. The event may be moved to spring at the Legion Home. A 1,800 pound safe with $140 cash inside was breached by burglars using a torch and tape, as they fled after failing to break in further.
An unnamed resident arrives home to find a three room frame house in flames. Firefighters faced no hydrant nearby and improvised water supply by thawing two neighborhood faucets and rigging a wash truck to deliver water. Captain Bully Cook described the makeshift method used by Mallems firefighters.

A birthday party was held at Mike Allen’s Baileysville home on Saturday for his sixth anniversary. Hostess Mrs Bill Allen led games with prizes won by Jennifer Meadows Helen Newcomb and Linda Fitch. Refreshments served to a list of attendees including Glenna Bellew Carolen Judy Fox Anna Paula Miniaci Linda Fitch and Rohbert Asbury.
Rhoda Marrs hosted a birthday party for her son Dewey Lee Marrs who turned 22. Children Jimmy Prater Clyde Coox won prizes while guests enjoyed refreshments from a list including Jimmy Marvin Prater Eddie Collins Ann Paula Miniaci Dana Sandra Lester Clyde Cook Gary Eddie St Clair and Lee Lusk.
Sir Winston Churchill's fever from pneumonia and pleurisy has eased a bit but his overall condition remains stable. Montague Browne released the official bulletin saying he is comfortable, strength maintained, with the fever a little lower. Lord Moran and Dr David M Roberts signed the notice.
