CAPE CANAVERAL UPI The United States launched its fourth and most advanced Tiros weather satellite to televise Earth pictures from space aboard a Thor-Delta rocket at 7:43 am EST. Signals reached a Wallops Island tracking station 1 hour 33 minutes later, confirming its orbit about 500 miles up. The 285 pound hatbox shaped satellite was one of seven experimental moonlets paving the way for a global weather satellite network.

Mansfield Found Safe After Nassau Boat Wreck
Actress Jayne Mansfield and her husband Mickey Hargitay were found safe on Rose Island off Nassau Bahamas after their 17 foot boat overturned during water skiing. 11 Year Old Boy Dies Of Old Age In California
