Mary Jane Wart 63 of Lillybrook died at 12:30 am Thursday in a local hospital after a brief illness. Survivors include four sons E D Edmonds Roanoke VA George C Warf Radford VA Tyler Grant Warf Cincinnati G Robey L Warf Lillybrook four daughters Gertude Carden Parrott VA W B Riller Sullivan WV William Osborne Duo WV Vilas Bedwell Lillybrook two sisters Lizella and Lou Ann Sutphin Carroll County VA and four brothers Matt Columbus Parris John Edmonds. Funeral set for 2 pm Sunday at Radford Methodist Church with burial at Siford Cemetery Parrott. Body to be moved from Rose Funeral Home to George W Edmonds Radford tomorrow.

Coal Output Down Area Wide Below 1947 Tonnage
Coal production in the Beckleys area fell below last year’s tonnage for January week ending January 31. The Winding Gulf field showed reduced output at 207,740 tons from 241,697 last year due to three idle mines after a gas explosion and a strike at Lynco. New River and other districts contributed to an area decline overall.

Appeal Made on Gambling Devices
