Tiny 15-Foot Plane Hits Raleigh County Air Show Hype
Melvin Robinson of High Point North Carolina builds a 15 foot three inch long plane with an 18 foot wingspan and 675 pound frame. The craft uses parts from twenty planes and a Lycoming engine. Robinson offers wing riding to Sandra Via a 20 year old Woodrow Wilson High School graduate who has piloted planes several years. She describes the experience as exciting and wonderful while flying over Beckley skies en route to an air show. Via is the daughter of Harold R Via and his wife and previously learned to fly from her father who was a pilot and car dealer.
