Signs Athletic Grant in Aid for Mickey Plumley at WVU
Mickey Plumley, a 6-3, 218 pound tackle from Mt. Hope High School, signed a grant in aid to attend West Virginia University and report in August for football conditioning. Plumbly chose WVU over Duke, Marshall, Tech, and NC State after being overlooked for the All-State team. Assistant coach Bob Patton announced the offer on behalf of WVU, praising his performance and high academic ranking in the top ten percent of his class. Plumley anchored Mt. Hope’s line during two seasons and helped in the Class AA playoff chase. The Mountaineers view him as a strong line prospect with potential to prove All-State material at WVU.
