Care Of Poinsettias Discussed For Prosperous Hills Gardeners

Mrs Gene Smith discussed poinsettias at the Prosperous Hills Garden Club meeting held at Mrs J R Campbell's home in Prosperity. She explained outdoor growth in summer requires 60 degrees F, leaves drop if night temp deviates, and proper care includes dry storage after blooming, May pruning, and sunlit watering. The plant is a short day type and bloom depends on consistent low evening light. This gathering featured a 3-foot window wreath by the Campbell home, book orders for Flowers A Guide to Familiar American Wild Flowers, a future workshop on banquet table arrangements, and Christmas arrangements exchanged with refreshments. Attending were Mrs Wayne Stewart and others.
