Pike Making Early Payoff for Turnpike Bonds
Turp mission said today interest checks totaling more than 2.5 million will be mailed soon to bondholders about a week late for Christmas but two months ahead of ten. A spokesman said checks totaling 2,563,310 will be mailed from New York about Jan 1. The amount includes 159,680 in interest on undue interest payments. The payment covers interest on 133 million in Turnpike bonds as of June 1, 1960. The original schedule called for two payments a year, but revenue has rarely funded more than one.
