Beclay notes Weekly News from Sierra Leone and mild Beckley weather
A columnist reviews The Weekly News from Freetown Sierra Leone noting its formal British tone, 16 pages, and space left for sale. The piece cites weather theory of 23 year cycles, compares it to Beckley’s mild winter and the 51 degree low versus zero last year, mentions a moccasin snake sighting, and criticizes filled court house sidewalk holes that blocked tobacco chewers. It also highlights Christmas toy fund shortfall and calls for Santa donations ahead of a local drive.
