Kopperston Presbyterian Church Men’s Fellowship completed their Christmas project by visiting Davis Stuart School for Children in Lewisburg. After dinner guests presented gifts to each child and toured the school where a sextet of girls Iris Pennington Marcia Rankin Linda Sauls Kay Estep Carol Grosse and Sinja Blankenship performed. Three Boy Scouts Terry Hose James Wilt and Billy Webster joined the trip as they work toward their God and Country Award along with numerous adults. Individual treats will be prepared by Pioneer Youth Fellowship members and sent to the school for Christmas.

PINEVILLE. Kenneth Godfrey of Hanover was fined 10 and costs for unlawful use of temporary license plates and found not guilty on an assault and battery charge. Paul Bannister, also of Hanover, was convicted of unlawful use of temporary license plates and fined 10 and costs. Bannister was found guilty and fined 25 and costs for not stopping for officers, guilty of assault and battery with a 16 year old girl’s mother as the accuser, and found not guilty of drunk driving.

Funeral services for Carlos Dewey Foster 35 Scarbro will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Scarbro Baptist Church conducted by Rev W H Johnson and Rev T N Waldron. Burial in High Lawn Memorial Park. Ray Shannon of near Baileysville was found guilty of non-support and ordered to pay his wife 73 dollars a month in a Pineville magistrate hearing. His wife had him released from jail after an arrest Saturday night by Constable Melvin Trent. Funeral services for Walter Alexander Hamlin are to be held in Bluefield Wednesday. He died at his Scarbro home Sunday and is at Lugo Funeral Home in Bluefield.
