Robert M. Walton aged 69 died after a four week illness at his Calloway Heights home. He was born in Durham England on June 7 1866 and worked for New River company in Skelton mines. Survived by widow Margaret E Walton son John in Bay City Michigan daughters Mrs Pete Reardon and Mrs Edith William both of Bay City. three stepchildren and six grandchildren. Funeral Monday at 2:30 p.m. at residence with Dr Ritchie Ware officiating. Burial under Caffee funeral directors in Mount Tabor cemetery with Beckley Moose lodge taking part.

Trains on Mullens Line Wrecks Halt Traffic for 12 Hours
A series of back-to-back wrecks halted main-line traffic near Lester Do than and Cittsville. A head engine plunged into a slide near Do than, with engineers Lawson and Gead escaping injury. At Cittsville a derailment left tracks damaged five to six feet from the roadbed. Crews from Elmore and Dickenson yards worked to clear debris and rebuild the line, aiming to reopen around four this morning.

Shotgun Slug Attack Jails Two Men Near Affinity

Credit Company Robbers Sought by Police in Huntington
Three armed robbers held up Huntington Credit Service, stole 2400 dollars including 700 from a safe and a tin box with postal savings stamps and jewelry, fled in a Ford sedan found abandoned in Enslow Park seven hours later. Four county officers raided the John Kopec residence near Skelton and found a moonshine operation including a still and five and a half gallons of whiskey. Charles Osborn age 23 from East Gulf was treated at Beckley hospital this morning for a stab wound on the left arm below the elbow. He identifies L Williams of Rhodell as the alleged attacker, while officers arrested L Williams in connection with the stabbing. Osborn remained in hospital.
