Eugene Browne son of Mr and Mrs Emory Browne Prenter Bowne appeared as bass soloist in Alderson Rosa College of Music recital of Handel The Messiah given toward his Bachelor of Arts degree Beane a former Sherman High School drum major.
Army personnel from Fort Huachuca to Bari Gardan and Munich are profiled. Pvt Reginald E Crone son of Mr and Mrs Reginald Crone of Minden is a teletype operator who completed basic training and graduated Collins High School in 1957. Sel Murray M Maynor, son of Mr and Mrs Holy ert P Maynor from Mount Hope, graduated the Seventh Army Non Commissioned Officer Academy in Munich and serves with the 97th Signal Battalion. Clarence R Trail, son of M T Pittsenbarger of Sophia, is a launcher crewman who entered the Army in 1957 and arrived overseas in June. Newton A Boyd, 17, completed Infantry Basic Training at Fort Gordon. David Lee Bennett completed nine weeks of recruit training at Bainbridge Naval Center and reports to Norfolk after a 14-day leave.

The Sherman High School junior class will stage the three act comedy Two Dates for Tonight on Friday. Directed by Medora Wayne, the cast includes 13 juniors with George White as student director and performers Sue Barker Carolyn Anderson Bonnie Brown Linda Totten Jo Ann Brown Judy Mikeal Carl Sarrett Lytis Davis Larry Cornell Larry Peters Betty King Patricka Arnold Martha Vamos and David Arehart in leading roles.
