Secretary of the Treasury Humphrey told the Investment Bankers Association that a deficit of eight to nine billion dollars is likely next year unless spending is cut, taxes raised, or both. Frozen Benzol Creates Problem on Akron Route 224
A tank truck crash near Wadsworth dumped 6900 gallons of benzol, freezing on the highway to form a thin flammable layer. Edward Kuba, 36, of Akron, collided with the truck, pinning his car and causing injuries. he was treated at Barberton Hospital. The tender trailer carrying benzol broke loose, forcing a three mile highway closure. Police cited Kuba for failing to yield the right of way. Gordon Hiltz, the truck driver en route to Weirton, W.Va., was uninjured.
