Two Killers Die On The Gallows In Missouri
New Madrid Missouri Aug 30 Eddie Gayman and Roy Hamilton county hold up slayers died on the gallows at dawn today in southeast Missouri s first double hanging in 30 years. The two were executed for killing Arthur Cashion filling station attendant in an attempted robbery. Both walked to the gallows unassisted and went to their deaths quietly. Sheriff Sam Harris officiated at the hanging.

Coal executive Clifton sells Raleigh Smokeless holdings
J. B. Clifton, long prominent in southern West Virginia coal circles, has disposed of his interest in the Raleigh Smokeless Fuel company Lillybrook Coal and the Raven and Red Ash Coal companies to T. Three Roanoke Men Arrested After Moonshine Crash
Three young men from Roanoke were jailed at Mount Hope after their Ford V-8 coupe crashed into a lamp post and fence at W. L. Bailey’s home around 2:30 AM. The car contained 60 gallons of moonshine whiskey and was badly damaged. They were held for federal officers and expected to be taken to a United States commissioner in Fayetteville.

Morgantown Aug 30 Dr Chauncey Samuel Boucher of the University of Chicago will become president of West Virginia University October 1 under a decision by the local university board of governors.
