Reform and Good Living Are Cellmates at Peace Springs
The West Virginia State Prison for Women at Peace Springs rejects strict regimentation in favor of a reform program. Inmates live in dormitories, work a 40 hour week, and enjoy visits with supervision. A five member Inmate Council, chapel services, education, and occupational training are emphasized to build character and independence for life after release.

Sherwood Plans an All Star Raleigh County Centenary Game
Sherwood Glutz urges a Raleigh County centennial celebration in Beckley from August 27 to September. He proposes a homegrown all star game from Raleigh, Summers, Greenbrier, and Monroe counties to raise funds for charity or war relief, arguing it would unite the region and rival the North-South football event in Charleston. He plans to arrive early, stay late, and promote local pride and heritage throughout the festivities.
